Jim NikkelDistrict Manager
Using his skills in engineering, problem solving, and management, District Manager Jim Nikkel is an expert in both comprehending and fully anticipating the needs of Pinnacle’s clients. His past experience and training allows him to effectively communicate all phases of projects for the district, from planning and budget development to construction and long-term operations.
Prior to joining Pinnacle Mr. Nikkel spent 34 years working with and for Colorado special districts in both the public and private sector. His experience includes 15 years with an engineering firm, 14 years with the water and sanitation district in Parker, and 5 years with Castle Pines North Metropolitan District.
Mr. Nikkel earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering at Denver’s Metropolitan State University and is a registered engineer with the state of Colorado. He’s a member of both the American Water Works Association and the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Along with his wife, Mr. Nikkel spends ample time giving back to his community. Together they volunteer at the Food Bank of the Rockies. They also donate to the hockey programs of Regis Jesuit High School and Boston College, where their son was involved in the sport for many years before assuming the role of video coach for the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins, the AHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Outside of work Mr. Nikkel spends time cooking, traveling, and camping. Each year he raises—or tries to raise—a substantial garden, and now that their son is grown, he and his wife have turned their parenting duties to two Labrador-Husky pups, who they hope will become as successful as their son.
